You might be asking, “Where can I move and get the most affordable auto insurance?” Really, it is OK to ask such questions, because I have the answers. Or rather, I know who has the answers.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Massachusetts has the most affordable auto insurance. Now I need to clarify this statement. InsWeb did an affordability study based on the median car insurance rates and median household incomes. So the rates in Massachusetts may not be the lowest, but they take up the smallest percentage of a household income. Make sense?
Louisiana takes the prize for least affordable state when it comes to auto insurance coverage.
Studies like this are fun, but are they really of any use? I guess they get us talking about relative affordability, and if you had your choice of where to live, and you like snow, then Massachusetts might be right for you. I think I will pass.
There is one way to lower you insurance costs, including what you are currently paying for auto insurance. That is to get free online insurance quotes for the coverages you are looking for. This lets you comparison shop rates from the comforts of your desk. Sounds a lot easier than moving to Massachusetts!
